The two lobes rotate in opposite directions without touching each other, the pumping chamber runs dry and the clearances seal themselves, so the shaft speed and the swept capacity can both be high.
The five LC models cover 250 to 4200 m³/h at 50 Hz. The volume a Roots pump can move depends on the inlet pressure: the lower the pressure, the more it relies on the backing pump, so fix the working pressure first, choose the model by the capacity needed at that pressure, then check that the backing pump delivers enough at the same point.
Typical pairs are 2V80 with LC250 and 2V275 with LC2600, used for coating, vacuum heat treatment, vacuum distillation and roughing of large chambers. A Roots pump must be started only after the chamber has been pumped down to the inlet pressure it allows, otherwise the pressure difference overloads the motor; the control logic needs a pressure interlock.
Lubricant fill follows the specification sheet: LC250 and LC500 take 0.125 L in the shaft seal chamber and 0.15 L in the gearbox; LC1200 takes 0.125 L, 2.4 L and 1.25 L in the seal chamber, gearbox and gear chamber; LC2600 and LC4200 take 0.45 L, 6.5 L and 3.5 L. Some models are not suitable for 60 Hz regions, please confirm with us before ordering.
